Seneca Cayuga ARC is comprised of people dedicated to assisting and supporting individuals with disabilities, their families and the community in Seneca and Cayuga Counties, New York. We provide opportunities and choices for treatment, employment, education, recreation and community living to assist individuals with disabilities in realizing a productive and fulfilling life.
Seneca Cayuga ARC is a not-for-profit organization recognized as tax-exempt under Internal Revenue Code section 501(c)(3).

Christine Gaun, who is employed at the Geneva General Day Care, was awarded Employee of the Quarter for the first quarter of 2009. The award is granted in recognition of one employee who clearly demonstrates professionalism and who serves as a role model within the Finger Lakes Health System. There are nearly 1,000 employees at the Geneva campus, so this is a huge honor. Chris received a plaque, $250, and a reserved parking space for three months.
Chris originally worked through JTPA (Job Training & Placement Act), which is designed to improve the employment status of disadvantaged young adults. After two years, she was hired on the Geneva General Hospital (Finger Lakes Health) payroll and has received ongoing job coaching services through ARC and supports from the Geneva General staff. She started out as a teacher's aide and then became a teacher at the day care. We're told that she is wonderful with the children. She obviously adores them and they love her!
Chris is a very likeable young lady; the children and others call her "Miss Chris". She and her co-worker, Mrs. Ho, work very well together coordinating daily activities and teaching the children as they learn and grow. She is recognized as an employee who consistently demonstrates organizational values and whose performance clearly exceeds the requirements of her job.
