Residential Services

The Residential Program provides individualized levels of support and supervision in comfortable home settings. Based on individual needs, people may share a house with others or maintain their own apartment with the support of visiting staff. In most cases, each person will have their own room. Individualized Residential Alternatives (IRA) are available in over a dozen supervised homes in Seneca and Cayuga Counties:

Shared houses

  • Staffed around the clock
  • Physically accessible
  • Single bedrooms or with a roommate
  • Quiet, suburban or in-town settings
  • Skilled support of personal health, safety, family involvement, and religious and social life

Supportive Apartments

  • Staffed by visiting professionals
  • Safe, comfortable and convenient
  • Private bedrooms
  • Convenient locations, many near public transit
  • Skilled support that may occur daily or as little as twice a week, based on individual need

Supervised Apartments

  • Each apartment provides support and instruction from trained staff 24 hours each day 7 days per week
  • Instruction is provided to develop skills and abilities that will allow the individual to live as independently as possible
  • People who live in these apartments receive individual supports based on their own particular needs and abilities
