All individuals who are enrolled in Seneca Cayuga ARC day programs are eligible to receive transportation to and from their home, regardless of physical limitations.
All vehicles are regularly maintained and equipped with two-way radios for safety. Key staff are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Thoroughly trained staff, vehicle inspections and routine vehicle maintenance ensure safe, reliable and timely service.
Our drivers are required by New York State Law to possess a Commercial Driver's License with a passenger endorsement. Drivers are subject to random drug and alcohol testing under mandates from the Federal Department of Transportation. Drivers are also required to be certified under Article 19A of the NY State Vehicle and Traffic Law which includes an annual defensive driving test, a personal interview, a check of driver's record, an oral or written exam every two years, a physical every two years, and fingerprinting for NY State Division of the Criminal Justice Services and the FBI. In addition, all drivers are required to attend training in fire safety, First Aid, vehicle evacuation, winter driving, proactive support, seizure control and other relevant areas.
