Community Recreation

This program offers recreational and social opportunities to people of all ages with developmental disabilities. Trained ARC staff oversee adult and children's activities. Special outings on ARC buses are arranged occasionally for musical or sports events, or visits to museums, zoos or theme parks.

By chaperoning outings, assisting with arts and crafts projects, helping to organize parties, or just by being a friend, you can make a difference!

Special Olympics

People of all skill levels compete in swimming, basketball, bowling, track and field, soccer, floor hockey and more! Coaches and volunteers are needed for these activities and for "Everybody Rides", an equestrian program designed to teach the fundamentals of horseback riding.

Most competitions are held locally on weekdays or Saturdays, but occasionally chaperones are needed as athletes are awarded the unique opportunity to travel. Some overnight trips have taken them to Utica, Albany, and New York City.

Day Services

Baking, reading, gardening, sewing and assisting with the teaching of daily living skills are just a few of the areas in which volunteers are needed. Your participation in our Day Habilitation Programs supports Seneca Cayuga ARC's commitment to participate in the community and ensure that the community is a part of Seneca Cayuga ARC.

Gordon Eadie Activity Center

The Gordon Eadie Activity Center in Auburn provides daytime programming for people with Alzheimer's Disease or memory loss and confusion. The program is designed to provide safe and stimulating activities that exercise both mind and body. By assisting with arts & crafts, going for a walk, leading a sing-along or just being a companion, you can make a difference!
