Welcome to My World

Welcome To My World is a workshop designed to enable people to grow in understanding of the needs and potential of persons with handicapping conditions.

Welcome To My World includes:

• attitude assessment
• simulation experiences of various handicapping conditions
• information to dispel myths and misunderstanding
• a call to open ourselves to persons with disabilities, that we might know the richness they have to offer.

Welcome To My World is an invitation to share another person's world, to experience their life so that we can more easily enter into a relationship and expand their world and ours.

Some of the activities during this workshop may include:

Lower Limb Impairment Navigate through a closed door while seated in a wheelchair
Upper Limb Impairment Wrap a gift package with each arm partially or completely immobilized
Visual Impairment Draw shapes or write words while blindfolded
